PARSIPPANY, NJ --- The Hydraulic Institute (HI) and the Technical Association of Pulp and Paper Industry (TAPPI) have partnered to provide their memberships with a direct link to purchase industry-leading pump standards specific to pumps installed or required in the pulp and paper industry.

Pulp and paper mills are pump-intensive facilities, with an average of 150 pumps per pulp mill and 50 pumps per paper mill. Specific HI standards are useful supplements to the TAPPI library of standards. By utilizing HI standards, pulp and paper companies can increase pump and systemS reliability, accurately determine pump performance, reduce lifecycle costs and energy, decrease design costs, and avoid miscommunication.

The Hydraulic Institute has created a customized page on its website designed to simplify the process of locating and purchasing the standards that are most valuable for pump professionals in the pulp and paper industry. A table of contents of the recommended standards can be viewed at www.pumps.org/TAPPI.

HI and TAPPI offer many resources for pulp and paper industry professionals and engineering consulting firms, including access to information on the latest technological developments, opportunities for professional growth and development, and one-on-one information exchange opportunities.

TAPPI members are also eligible to become Hydraulic Institute Standards Partners. HI Standards Partners provide valuable technical expertise in the development of ANSI/HI Pump Standards, guidelines and educational materials. Both large and small engineering consulting companies are welcome to participate.

Corporations, partnerships, sole proprietorships and government agencies with offices in North America that are engineering firms, provide engineering services or are end users of pumps may participate as a Hydraulic Institute Standards Partner. Visit www.Pumps.org/Partners for more information on eligibility.
