LOCKPORT, LA – William Loomis has been named President of Zeeospheres Ceramics LLC, a new business venture established by Valentine Chemicals Inc., of Lockport, LA. The new company was formed to manufacture and market Zeeospheres® Ceramic Microspheres, a performance additive used in a variety of industrial, maintenance and specialty paints and coatings.

Loomis introduced Zeeospheres to the paint and coatings industry in 1980, when he co-founded Zeelan Industries Inc. The company was sold to 3M, St. Paul, MN, in 1992, which ultimately renamed the product 3M™ Gray Ceramic Microspheres. In April of this year, Valentine Chemicals acquired assets of the ceramic microspheres business, including existing production facilities in Poca, WV, and the original Zeeospheres brand name.

"I'm delighted to be associated with the Zeeospheres product and the paints and coatings industry once again," said Loomis, who worked for 3M in new business ventures until his retirement in January. "It's a privilege to be back working with our customers. We have a proven - and affordable - technology that offers real value to their business."

Loomis says the new Zeeospheres Ceramics business model will be centered on fast and flexible response to customers' needs, ease of doing business, and maintaining the hallmark standards of quality and technical expertise of former owner 3M. "We are strongly committed to growing the Zeeospheres brand through a dedicated focus on our customers," said Loomis.
