DES PLAINES, IL – The American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) Foundation recently announced the availability of more than $100,000 in scholarships and professional development grants for the 2010 academic year, including one new scholarship and one new grant. The deadline for submitting applications is Dec. 1, 2009.
 
All available scholarships are for students pursuing a degree in occupational safety and health, safety engineering, safety management, occupational health nursing, occupational medicine, risk management, ergonomics, industrial hygiene, fire safety, environmental safety, environmental health, or other safety-related fields. Scholarships range from general criteria to regional based, diversity and specific areas of study within safety. Grants are available to safety professionals wishing to advance their professional credentials in safety.
