SHANGHAI, China - After two years of engineering and construction, Evonik’s production plant for thermoplastic methacrylic resins in Shanghai, China is now completed. The plant is placing its stakes on the new Continuous Direct Polymerization (CDP™) process for making products used primarily as binders in the coating industry. These DEGALAN® products perform in all areas of application that call for a superior level of weather resistance, colorfastness and high brilliance. The chief applications for these products are in marine and container paints, plastic coatings, road markings, metal coatings, ceramic transfer lacquers, and printing inks.

 

With the new site in Shanghai, Evonik is strengthening its position as a leading supplier of methacrylate-based raw materials for coatings in Asia.
