ATLANTA – Vicinity Manufacturing™ now provides immediate integration with external data collection systems such as bar coding and warehouse management. Accellos, Colorado Springs, CO, became the first company to partner for automated data collection with Vicinity through its In Touch Manufacturing Solutions for Microsoft Dynamics® GP.

The In Touch Solution allows manufacturers to collect and track real-time data on all finished goods. By employing bar coding at the package line, formula manufacturers will improve the speed and accuracy of their finished-goods recording. The data obtained from In Touch allows for measurement of actual inventory on hand, which is vital for efficient warehouse management and inventory control.

Vicinity Manufacturing plans to continue its development efforts in real-time data collection. The company plans to offer bar coding on raw material usage as a standard feature during the first part of 2009.
