CHICAGO - Atlas Material Testing Technology has announced dates for its next Atlas Technical Conference on Ageing and Evaluation (ATCAE). The conference will focus on the durability of materials, components and systems for the solar energy industry. It will take place December 8-9, 2009, at the Point Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort in Phoenix, AZ.

The solar energy market has grown tremendously in the last few years. Various materials such as glass, plastics, polymers, sealants and metals are used to build PV modules, concentrating dishes and other systems to convert solar into thermal or electrical energy. These systems are typically expected to last 20, 30 or even 40 years. Therefore, appropriate accelerated testing of the long-term durability of individual components, as well as the complete system, is crucial in product development, quality control and certification testing.

The two-day conference will present the latest developments, research and innovative approaches to address solar durability and efficiency testing. For additional information on the conference, visit www.solardurability.com.
