Hydraulic Institute announced its 2009 Board of Directors and Officers during a general session at its 92nd Annual Meeting held in Marco Island, FL.

PARSIPPANY, NJ – Hydraulic Institute (HI) announced its 2009 Board of Directors and Officers during a general session at its 92nd Annual Meeting held in Marco Island, FL.
 
Bill Waltz, President of the Flow Technologies Division of Pentair Water, was named the institute’s new Chairman of the Board. Dennis Ziegler, President and CEO of GIW Industries, was elected HI President. Steve Oswald, President of the Industrial Division of Hamilton Sundstrand Corp., was elected Vice President of HI Member Services; and Ken Napolitano, President of ITT Industrial Process, was elected HI’s Vice President of Knowledge and Education. Dave McKinstry, Vice President of IMO Pump, was re-elected to serve as HI’s Vice President of Technical Affairs until 2010.
 
Additional members of the Board include: Dave Brockway, President, Intelliquip, Inc.; Dean Douglas, President and CEO, Peerless Pump Co.; Rich Heppe, President of Industrial Motors & Systems, Emerson/US Motors; Sven Olsen, President, Leistritz Corp.; Dave Orlowski, CEO, Inpro/Seal Co.; and Mike Sutter, Vice President and General Manager, Global Industrial Operations, Flowserve Pump Division.
 
John Miersma, Vice President, CFO and COO of Iwaki America Inc., was presented with HI’s “Chairman’s Award” recognizing his many contributions to the pump industry and to the Hydraulic Institute.
 
Randy Ferman, Manager of R&D for Flowserve’s Pump Division, was honored as HI’s 2008 Member of the Year. He was chosen for his significant and sustained contributions to the Hydraulic Institute. Ferman served as Chairman of the Hydraulic Institute/Pump Systems Matter “Optimizing Pumping Systems” Guidebook Committee, leading to the 2008 publication of the guide.
 
Dave McKinstry, Vice President of Business Development and Special Projects for Colfax/IMO-Warren Pumps, was awarded the Hydraulic Institute Lifetime Achievement Award. McKinstry, who was also the 2002 HI Member of the Year, was recognized for his lifetime of contributions to the institute and for his technical involvement and leadership with HI. His efforts participating on HI committees in volunteer leadership roles have made a significant impact within the institute and the pump industry.
