BASEL, Switzerland - Ciba is offering three expert services seminars on new EU regulations. The seminars will address substance information exchange forums (SIEFs) and consortia, REACH regulation, and GHS in the EU.
SIEF and Consortia Training will take place Feb. 5, 2009, in Brussels. The course will prepare participants for the challenges of SIEFs and consortia. It will provide first-hand information from industry practitioners and legal experts on how to avoid problems with anti-trust legislation and how to get the right deal from cost and data sharing. Participants will meet actors from differing companies and European countries, thus guaranteeing real-life interactions throughout the training.
The second seminar, REACH: Enhancing Competitiveness and Innovation, A Practical, Interactive Seminar, will be held in Barcelona, April 2-3, 2009. The seminar’s main objective is to provide practical advice and to help participants better understand the advantages of REACH, particularly for non-phase-in substances. The seminar will provide a platform to exchange best practices, allowing companies to make sense of their REACH obligations while making the most from the reduced requirements and exemptions.
The third seminar, Implementing GHS in the European Union, Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008, the New EU CLP Regulation, A Practitioner’s Workshop, will be offered April 21-22, 2009, in London. This workshop offers attendees a comprehensive understanding and hands-on review of the requirements for compliance with the European Commission Regulation No 1272/2008 implementing the Globally Harmonized System of classification and labeling of chemicals (GHS) in the European Union.
