ROSTOV-ON-DON, Russia – Empils, a leading Russian manufacturer of decorative paint and varnish coatings, has reported that the total 2008 sales volume of paints and varnishes manufactured by its Russian and Ukrainian plants (ZAO Empils in Rostov-on-Don and OAO Elaks in Odessa) amounted to 3.490 billion rubles, an increase of 10 percent from 2007.
In volume terms, sales amounted to 74,000 tons of paint and varnish (97 percent as compared with 2007). ZAO Empils distributed paints and varnishes to Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kirghizia, Tadzhikistan and Mongolia, for a total of 63,000 tons. ОАО Elaks distributed to Ukraine, Belorussia, Lithuania, Moldavia and Georgia, for a total of 11,000 tons.
Looking forward, Empils reports an increase for 2009 of signed contracts with its trade partners in Russia and Central Asia countries (Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tadzhikistan and Kirghizia). The company reported it will enter into direct contracts with 136 companies, 119 of which are regional distributors, and 25 are international and national trading networks. The annual volume of these contracts amounts to 103 percent of 2008 sales.
Empils manufactures universal and special paint and varnish materials for different types of surfaces under the following trademarks: EMPILS, Oreol, Rastsvet, Prostokrasheno!, Edvard Star (ES), Optima, Uyut, Stroitel, Belka and Formula. Empils’ paint and varnish materials are widely represented in wholesale and retail networks in Russia, Ukraine, Byelorussia, Lithuania, Moldavia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tadzhikistan, Kirghizia and Mongolia.
