ARLINGTON, VA – The Center for the Polyurethanes Industry (CPI) of the American Chemistry Council is sponsoring a Professional Development Program (PDP) during the Polyurethanes 2008 Technical Conference, held Sept. 29 through Oct. 1, 2008, at the Marriott Rivercenter in San Antonio, TX. College students, teachers, industry newcomers, longtime experts and polyurethane end users will have eight PDP seminars to choose from, ranging from introductory to advanced levels on polyurethane-related topics such as basic chemistry and technology, markets, applications, safety issues, building and energy codes.
 
Each seminar is a thorough half-day or all-day session that runs concurrent with the conference technical sessions. This year’s eight seminars are: Introduction to Polyurethane Chemistry; Building and Energy Codes: Introduction and Overview Relative to Polyurethanes; Introduction to Polyurethane Technology (product categories); EHS Issues of Aromatic Isocyanates Relative to Polyurethanes; Markets and Applications with a Brief Introduction to Polyurethane Chemistry; Polyurethane Raw Materials Testing, Specifications and Performance: the Myth and the Magic; Polyurethane CASE (Coating, Adhesive, Sealant and Elastomers); and Physical Testing of Polyurethane Foams.
