PHILADELPHIA - Rohm and Haas Co. and Tasnee Sahara Olefins Co. (TSOC) of Saudi Arabia have announced plans to form a joint venture that will produce 250,000 metric tons of acrylic acid and related esters, in Jubail, Saudi Arabia, beginning in 2011. These feedstock materials will be used to support the growth of Rohm and Haas’s water-based acrylic products in rapidly developing economies. TSOC will have exclusive rights to sell a portion of the acrylic acid products within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates. The Jubail facility is the first downstream chemical project of its kind to be undertaken in the Middle East.

Additionally, Rohm and Haas Europe Sarl has partnered with a leading logistics group to launch Claymore™XPress, a new pan-European service that provides next-day delivery to powder coatings customers across the region.
 

The Claymore portfolio has 800 products encompassing polyester RAL colors in glossy, semi-gloss and matt finishes, special effects for architectural and interior design, as well as hybrids and a comprehensive range of chemistries and textures for industrial applications.
