Kemira has initiated a process to evaluate strategic alternatives for its business units Pigments and Chemidet, with the objective of increasing the company’s focus on its core businesses.

HELSINKI, Finland – Kemira has initiated a process to evaluate strategic alternatives for its business units Pigments and Chemidet, with the objective of increasing the company’s focus on its core businesses. This process is estimated to conclude by year-end 2007. The ChemSolutions business unit became part of Kemira’s Pulp & Paper business on July 1, 2007, and will continue its current operations in line with its recently outlined customer segment strategy. The Kemira Specialty business area will cease to exist if Pigments´ and Chemidet´s ownership changes.
