WASHINGTON - The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is seeking comment on the health effects of lead listed in a document called Air Quality Criteria for Lead (Second External Review Draft).

In a Federal Register notice published July 31, the agency asked for comment on a chapter released in May, which stated that even low levels of lead exposure can result in detrimental human health effects. EPA will use the document to decide whether to revise the air quality standard for lead.

Comments should be labeled with Docket ID No. EPA-HQ-ORD-2004-0018, and may be submitted at www.regulations.gov/.
