BASF formally dedicated its new powder-coatings manufacturing plant at the company’s Morganton, NC, complex.

MOUNT OLIVE, NJ — BASF Corp. formally dedicated its new powder-coatings manufacturing plant at the company’s Morganton, NC, complex. The plant, with an annual production capacity of 10,000 metric tons, provides BASF with a North American supply base for powder coatings used in the automotive, appliance and pipeline markets and for other potential applications, the company said. BASF is a major supplier of powder coatings in Europe and South America.

Paul Macko, director of Marketing for BASF Corp.’s Industrial Coatings group, said the powder plant will allow expansion into new markets and applications. “As such, this investment offers significant growth opportunities to BASF,” Macko said.
