KENT, WA — Chemcentral Corp. said it has resumed operations at its facilities in Kent, WA, in the Seattle area, following a Sept. 13 fire that inflicted considerable damage at the company’s office and warehouse there.
The fire broke out in the early morning hours and destroyed the facility’s office and warehouse, and 600–700 drums of products, the company said. A tank farm and outside storage dock were not damaged, thanks primarily to the effective response of the Kent fire department, company officials said. The company has set up temporary office and storage facilities in Kent, and has resumed taking orders and delivering products to customers. The fire was described as the biggest in the history of the company, which operates 56 distribution warehouses around the United States.
