Tnemec Co. Inc., Kansas City, MO, announced the launch of advanced color-matching capabilities for industrial coatings at the company's 14 distribution centers nationwide. The system, developed in partnership with Datacolor International, Lawrenceville, NJ, allows Tnemec to quickly match customer color requests and provide a one- to three-day turnaround on customer color matches in batch sizes from 1-5,000 gal, said Manager of Color Technology Wayne Dailey. Tnemec invested nearly $1 million two years ago to begin a conversion to a pre-fill color-matching system involving pre-filled containers, colorant dispensers and color-matching software installed at each manufacturing and distribution location, the company said.
