FRANKFURT, Germany -- Henkel KgaA announced the sale of Cognis, its specialty chemicals business, to Schroder Ventures and Goldman Sachs Capital Partners in a transaction valued at 2.6 billion euros, or $2.36 billion.

Cognis' Coatings and Ink Division is a supplier of acrylic and polyamide resins, epoxy hardeners, and coatings additives.
