BASF AG, Ludwigshafen, Germany, said it plans to build a trimethylolpropane production facility with an annual production capacity of 20,000 metric tons at its manufacturing complex in Ludwigshafen, with production expected to begin in early 2001. Trimethyl- olpropane is a precursor for several polymers, including polyester resins, polyurethanes and acrylates for UV-cure coatings.
