Degussa-Hüls said it plans to invest more than 500 million Deutschmarks (DM) in its silanes business.

Degussa-Hüls AG, Frankfurt am Main, Germany, said it plans to invest more than 500 million Deutschmarks (DM) in its silanes business, with DM200 million to be earmarked for a production-capacity increase for sulphur-functional organo-silanes, boosting that capacity by two-thirds. Approximately DM300 million will be invested to expand production of chlorosilanes and other organosilanes.
