BASF Coatings AG, Ludwigshafen, Germany, said it signed a basic agreement with DaimlerChrysler AG under which DaimlerChrysler will recommend the use of BASF's Glasurit and R-M automotive-refinish products on DaimlerChrysler group vehicles. BASF said the agreement includes auto-refinish products used in all countries where DaimlerChrysler vehicles are sold. The deal requires BASF to provided training and technical assistance to painters working in the DaimlerChrysler dealer organization, and BASF also will offer technical support and training services. BASF said the agreement represents an expansion of its longtime relationship with the former Daimler-Benz AG in the auto-refinish segment.
