Eastman Chemical Co., Kingsport, TN, announced plans to close an Eastman Chemical Jaeger GmbH & Co. coatings-polymer plant in DAsseldorf, Germany, but provided no timetable for the action. The plant was included in Eastman's 1998 acquisition of Ernst Jaeger, Fabrik Chemischer Rohstoffe GmbH & Co. The facility supplies specialty polymers for architectural and industrial coatings, printing inks, adhesives, sealants, and floor-care products. The plant closing is part of Eastman's ongoing program to consolidate coatings raw-material manufacturing operations.
