RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC - Reichhold Inc. said it is negotiating to sell its Swift Adhesives business to Forbo Holding AG, a manufacturer of adhesives, belting and floor coverings based in Zurich, Switzerland. The companies said they hope to finalize the transaction by the end of the year.

Swift Adhesives, with operations in Europe, North, Central and South America and a at a Chinese joint venture, supplies products for the product-assembly, automotive, packaging, graphic-arts, and construction markets. The business has annual sales of about $250 million.

Reichhold has indicated that it plans to divest non-core businesses and focus on its core composites and coatings raw materials segments as part of a restructuring program.
