Clariant AG, Basel, Switzerland, announced the start of production at a new organic-pigment plant in China operated by Clariant Pigments (Tianjin) Ltd., a joint-venture business of Clariant and Tianjin No. 8 Chemical and Dyestuff Factory. Tianjin No. 8 is part of the Bohai Chemical Industry Group Corp. Products manufactured at the site include red and yellow azo pigments, the company said. Clariant Pigments (Tianjin) Ltd. began pigment production in 1997.
