CLEVELAND — The Geon Co. and M.A. Hanna Co. announced that their stockholders have approved the companies’ consolidation into a new organization, PolyOne Corp. The new company began operation Sept. 1, and is headed by Chairman and CEO Thomas A. Waltermire, who formerly held the same positions with Geon.

The company, with annual sales of $3.5 billion, is a supplier of thermoplastic compounding, specialty resins and polymers, color and additive systems, and other products and services.
