The Phascope PMP10 is a hand-held instrument for measuring coating thickness. The unit uses the phase-sensitive eddy current test method to measure metallic coatings on ferrous or non-ferrous substrates. It is particularly well suited for measuring thickness of nickel on steel or non-ferrous metals such as copper or brass on bronze, as well as copper on printed circuit boards. The phase-sensitive eddy current test method (draft standard ISO/DIS 21968) offers significant advantages for measurement of metallic coatings as compared to the conventional amplitude eddy current test method (DIN EN ISO 2360).
