Sayerlack, the brand owned by the Coatings Division of Arch Chemicals Inc., showcased new dual-cure UV coatings and textured finishes at the recent International Woodworking Machinery & Furniture Supply Fair in Atlanta.

Philip Crouchman, general manager of Arch Coatings USA, said the Sayerlack Dual Cure system is designed to combine the advantages of conventional UV technology with the performance of polyurethanes. The coatings, which can be used as an alternative to nitrocellulose and polyurethane finishes, offer the environmental benefits of waterborne coatings and can be used for a variety of wood-coating applications, including cabinetry, flat components, and interior and exterior doors.

Arch Coatings said Sayerlack textured finishes, formulated for use on wood, plaster and brick, offer a high degree of flexibility for bridging of cracks and minor surface irregularities. The coatings carry a guarantee of 10 years of durability and 40-year service life, the company said.
