Eastman Chemical Co., Kingsport, TN, announced plans to close two ink varnish plants as part of a program to further consolidate manufacturing of products used in the ink and graphics-arts markets. Production at the facilities, located in LaVergne, TN, and Rexdale, Canada, will be moved to Eastman's Pleasant Prairie, WI, site. The plants to be closed were acquired as part of Eastman's 1999 acquisition of Lawter International Inc.
