TWINSBURG, OH — Kool Seal Inc., a manufacturer of reflective roof coatings, announced a definitive agreement to acquire the assets of ORD Products Inc., including the Snow Roof Systems brands, from SKW-MBT Management Inc. ORD Products is an SKW Management subsidiary that represents the North and South American construction chemicals operations of SKW Trostberg AG of Germany.
Kool Seal said it is the U.S. market leader in the manufacture and sale of waterborne elastomeric roof coatings, and also is a major manufacturer of aluminum roof coatings. Kool Seal said the acquisition combines the top two brands in the roof-coatings industry, and the company said the acquisition also expands its product range with ORD Products’ coatings for flat and low-sloped roofs. Kool Seal’s products are designed for application on metal roofs commonly found on manufactured housing, recreational vehicles and pre-engineered metal buildings. With the acquisition, Kool Seal also enters into an agreement to distribute Thoro protection products for concrete and masonry surfaces.
Kool Seal President Stephen R. Hudak said the acquisition is “a near-perfect match in that both companies will enjoy the synergy that will come from combining the two most recognized brands in reflective roof coatings.”
