CLEVELAND - Noveon Inc. announced the acquisition of technology and other assets from American Finish & Chemical Co. as part of a strategy to expand its Performance Coatings business.

American Finish & Chemical, headquartered in Chelsea, MA, is a manufacturer of custom emulsion-based coatings used in a variety of markets. Terms were not disclosed.

The acquisition adds flock adhesives and waterborne coatings to Noveon's Performance Coatings product range, said Sarah Coffin, senior vice president & general manager, Performance Coatings. The company said it plans to consolidate manufacturing operations at the existing Noveon facility in Lawrence, MA.

Cleveland-based Noveon is a global producer of specialty chemicals for a range of consumer and industrial applications.
