Japan Fine Coatings Co., a 50-50 joint-venture business of DSM Desotech, Elgin, IL, and JSR, Tokyo, have finished construction of a production plant in Tsukuba, Japan. The facility, the second Japan Fine Coatings Co. plant, will manufacture UV-cure materials, the companies said. DSM Desotech said the plant is one of three new production sites completed in the last three years, including plants in The Netherlands and the acquisition of a facility in Stanley, NC. DSM Desotech is a producer of UV-cure coatings, ink and matrix materials for optical fiber and coatings for digital video discs, compact discs and rapid-imaging materials used for computer-aided design prototyping.
