DuPont Co., Wilmington, DE, has given a Marketing Excellence Award to a team from the company's Textiles & Interiors Nylon Intermediates, Specialties and Polymer business that developed the Vapor Hazard Ratio (VHR), which is designed to aid in the selection of safer solvents for use in various applications. The VHR is described as an evaluation tool that enables solvent users to accurately evaluate and compare the risk potential of solvents, and is based on guidelines that combine exposure limits with solvent physical properties, the company said. Information on the VHR, including tables on the hazard risk potential of 16 commonly used solvents, is available at the DuPont DBE website, located at www.dbe.dupont.com.
