CARTERSVILLE, GA - Halliburton Energy Services announced an agreement to sell its Cimbar Performance Minerals business, a supplier of barium sulfate products, to United Minerals & Properties. Terms were not disclosed, with completion of the sale anticipated by the end of the year. Cimbar, based in Cartersville, GA, said it would retain its name on the existing product lines, which include natural barium sulfate, precipitated barium sulfate, nano-barium sulfate, and bentonite.

United Minerals & Properties is a producer of magnesium hydroxide, a mineral used in water treatment, fire retardants and smoke suppressants, and other mineral products.
