TAYLOR, MI — Masco Corp. has entered the coatings-manufacturing industry with the acquisition of Behr Process Corp., a Santa Ana, CA-based producer of premium architectural coatings. Behr is one of five companies acquired by Masco in a major expansion of the company’s holdings in the home-improvement and building-products industries.

Behr manufactures stains, varnishes and paint sold primarily to the do-it-yourself market through home centers and other retail outlets. Masco is a diversified manufacturer of faucets, cabinets, locks, and other home-improvement and building products.
