Bradford was formerly Technical Marketing and Sales manager for UV Coatings at BASF Automotive Coatings in Southfield, MI. Paul Marvuglio also has joined Elementis as Technical manager, based at the company's Jersey City, NJ, facility. Marvuglio was formerly a Technical Service Group leader at Hilton Davis, and also has held technical positions at Creanova and Clariant Corp.
Spraylat Corp. has named Steven Frias to the company's powder coatings sales team, with responsibility for sales in north Texas, Oklahoma, southern Missouri, and eastern Louisiana. Frias joined Spraylat in 1992 and was most recently Quality Control manager for the Powder Coating Division. Spraylat is a manufacturer of powder coatings and liquid general-industrial, sign and conductive coatings.
David Graham has joined Special Materials Co., Cherry Hill, NJ, as vice president of Sales and Marketing. Graham formerly held a variety of positions with Occidental Chemical Co., including OXSOL business manager. Special Materials Co. is a marketer of PCBTF solvent, crotonic acid and titanium dioxide, and supplies products to the coatings, polymer, and other industries.
Norbert John Hobrath has joined Eckart America L.P. as director, Marketing Communications, with responsibility for trade advertising, website content, trade shows, media relations, product promotions and other communications functions. Hobrath formerly owned Hobrath Press Inc., an advertising agency and printing company, and was previously Communications manager, Colorants & Pigments, at Harshaw/Engelhard.
Klaus Peter Lobbe will assume responsibility for BASF AG's newly created Ressort IX, based in Mount Olive, NJ, on March 1, the company announced. BASF's Coatings and North America divisions will become part of Ressort IX. Lobbe has been president of BASF's Coatings division since 1996, and previously was president of the company's Industrial Chemicals division. In another move related to the company's recent realignment program, Jean-Pierre Monteny was named to head the Coatings division, effective Jan. 1. Monteny, a 25-year veteran of the coatings industry, formerly headed BASF's automotive-refinish and industrial coatings businesses.
Allied PhotoChemical Inc., Kimball, MI, has named Stewart McKenzie president. McKenzie has more than 15 years of experience in the coatings industry, in the areas of UV-cure technology, powder coatings and vacuum metallization, and has held positions with FMC Corp., Union Carbide Corp., and DSM. The company also said Rich Miller has joined the company as Sales and Marketing manager. Miller has more than 12 years' experience in the ink and coatings industries, with The Sherwin-Williams Co. and DSM. Allied PhotoChemical is a manufacturer of 100% solids UV-curable coatings, ink and lubricants.
Rohm and Haas Co. announced the election of Suzanne B. Rowland, business manager for the company's North American Specialty Polymers Business, to vice president. Rowland joined Rohm and Haas in 1985 as Market manager for Textile Chemicals in North America. She has held a variety of financial and management positions, and was named business director for North American Coatings in 1999. She assumed her current position in April, when the North American Coatings and Specialty Polymers units were combined into a single business.
Seegott Inc. has promoted Sam Taylor to Regional Sales manager - New England and Mid-Atlantic states. He was formerly an account manager, and previously held sales, management and other positions with DuPont Co.
Walsh & Associates, St. Louis, has named Robert Walsh Jr. Regional Sales manager. He is a 31-year veteran of the company. Walsh & Associates is a distributor of raw materials and equipment to the coatings, ink, and other industries in all or parts of 17 states in the Midwest and Rocky Mountain states.
