ARNHEM, the Netherlands - International Marine Coatings has secured a major contract to coat the first-ever Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) carriers to be built in China. More than two million liters of paint, including Intersmooth® 465 and Intershield® 300, will be used to coat the four vessels being constructed by the Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co. Ltd. in Shanghai. The ships will be used to transport gas from Australia to China, with the first vessel, which began construction late last year, expected to be delivered in July 2007. The other three will be delivered by November 2008.
