Ace Hardware Corp. said its Paint Division has introduced the "Simply Magic" ceiling paint

Ace Hardware Corp., Oak Brook, IL, said its Paint Division has introduced the "Simply Magic" ceiling paint, which is blue-colored when applied to allow the paint user to see where paint has already been applied, then turns to white when dry. The company said a packet of blue dye additive is attached to the top of the paint can. Just before painting, the paint user adds the packet's contents to the paint. As the dye is stirred in, the paint becomes blue. The paint formula contains an ingredient that reacts with sunlight, causing the blue to fade away, the company says. Within 24 hours, the color transforms into a white matte finish. Dick Bristol, director of Ace Hardware's Paint Division, said the company is "seeing great retailer and consumer interest for this handy product."
