This company has developed a polymer that will significantly reduce the VOC content in solventborne paints. Based upon a core-shell nano-particle polymer technology, the nano-particle preparation displays the following properties: solid content of 75% in butyl acetate; viscosity of 0.5-2.2 Pa.s.; shear stress of 260-280 Pa at 300 s-1 shear rate; adhesion of 5B, (ASTM: D3359); hardness of 260 after 1 hr at 110 deg C, (Persoz, ASTM D4366); and no fracture (conical mandrel, ASTM D1737).
