Eastman Chemical Co., Kingsport, TN, announced plans to expand production capacity in two phases for its EpB oxirane and derivatives products at its Longview, TX, manufacturing facility. The expansions will increase capacity by approximately 25%, to 1,700 metric tons per year, by year-end 2000. The company is developing plans for a second expansion phase, the construction of an EpB oxirane and derivatives plant that would begin production in late 2002. The company said EpB oxirane and derivatives product applications include coatings and other end uses. The first products were commercialized in 1997.
