Sherwin-Williams Protective & Marine received the Gold Emerging Technology Award at the 2024 Global Tank Storage Awards for its Heat-Flex 7000 insulative coating system. The international award recognizes new technologies that improve safety, efficiency and cost-effectiveness in industrial storage environments.
Heat-Flex 7000 is a single-coat thermal insulative coating designed to help reduce risks associated with high-temperature steel tanks, including burns, vaporization losses from solar heat gain, and corrosion under insulation (CUI). The coating forms a thick film that resists moisture and retains heat, reducing the need for frequent inspection or conventional cladded insulation systems.
The award was presented during the seventh annual Global Tank Storage Awards in Rotterdam. An international judging panel selected winners from more than 200 submissions across 12 categories.
