PPG announced its participation in Make It Zero, a global initiative focused on reducing scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions across the do-it-yourself (DIY) home improvement sector. The initiative is supported by the European DIY Retailers Association and the Global Home Improvement Network.
As part of the commitment, PPG’s Architectural Coatings business in Europe, Australia and New Zealand has become a signatory to the initiative’s decarbonization targets. The company joins a group of retailers and suppliers working to develop standardized methods for tracking carbon data and sharing best practices to reduce value chain emissions.
“We share the responsibility to lower the industry’s carbon footprint and are committed to working together with our customers and suppliers to achieve these goals,” said Sarah Trowse, customer sustainability business partner for Architectural Coatings.
The initiative supports PPG’s broader 2030 sustainability targets, which include emissions reduction goals validated by the Science Based Targets initiative.
