Sherwin-Williams Protective & Marine earned a 2025 MP Corrosion Innovation of the Year Award for its Heat-Flex CUI-mitigation coatings during the AMPP Annual Conference + Expo. The award, presented by Materials Performance magazine, recognizes technologies that significantly advance global corrosion control and asset protection.
One of 10 winners selected from 60 submissions, the Heat-Flex coating series includes the flagship Heat-Flex ACE (Advanced CUI Epoxy), a solvent-free epoxy novolac formulated to protect assets from corrosion under insulation (CUI), extend service life and reduce downtime. The portfolio also features Heat-Flex 750, Heat-Flex 1200 Plus and Heat-Flex 650, each engineered for specific temperature ranges and environments.
“CUI remains one of the most serious threats to productivity and safety in asset-intensive industries,” said Neil Wilds, global product director of CUI and testing. “Our Heat-Flex coatings deliver long-term corrosion protection that helps reduce maintenance costs and enhance reliability.”
At the 2025 AMPP Annual Conference + Expo, Sherwin-Williams will showcase its Global Core Portfolio at its exhibit booth, including products such as Zinc Clad 2500, Macropoxy 2600 and Acrolon 7700, as well as its Heat-Flex Advanced Energy Barrier. The company will also highlight infrastructure solutions including Sher-Bar TEC and Sherplate 600.
Company experts will present multiple technical sessions throughout the event, covering topics such as thermally insulative coatings, mechanical properties testing, electrochemistry, lining performance and sustainability in water infrastructure. Presenters include Wilds, Erik Dammen-Brower, Jeremy Daum, Kristin Leonard, Sean Grady, Mallorie Boron, Ryder James, Michael Harrison, Paula Donadio, Gino Sincovich and Steve Roetter.
Sherwin-Williams is also sponsoring the Department of Transportation Peer Forum and supporting scholarships through AMPP’s EMERG program. Awards will be presented at the EMERGing Leaders Bash on April 8.
