Partnership Aims to Scale LFP Supply in Europe

Wanhua Chemical Group Battery Technology Co. Ltd. and IBU-tec signed a joint development agreement to advance lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery material production in Europe. The partnership aims to support a European value chain in the battery sector.
A signing ceremony was held March 26 in Weimar, Germany, with representatives from both companies. IBU-tec, a leading European LFP materials manufacturer, will collaborate with Wanhua Chemical to scale production to an industrial level in the coming months. Initial results are expected in the third quarter of 2025.
If successful, the project could establish LFP cathode material production in Germany, supporting both European and North American markets. Future plans also include the potential launch of a joint laboratory in Europe to support battery research and development.
Wanhua Chemical has expanded its global presence with seven R&D centers, nine production bases, and more than 10 overseas sales offices. The company aims to establish a localized LFP supply chain for European customers.
