Siegwerk announced a leadership change within its Group Executive Committee as Ralf Hildenbrand, president Americas and committee member, will retire effective July 1, 2025. He will be succeeded by Christopher van Laack, currently vice president of the business unit Paper & Board EMEA and Liquid Food Packaging.
Hildenbrand has been with Siegwerk for more than 36 years, holding multiple global leadership roles and contributing to the company’s strategic growth. He has led key initiatives in flexible packaging, product safety, brand owner collaboration, and circular economy. Since 2019, he has served as president Americas, significantly advancing the company’s presence in the region.
“Ralf Hildenbrand has made a decisive contribution to Siegwerk’s success over more than three decades,” said Dr. Nicolas Wiedmann, CEO at Siegwerk. “His leadership and strategic vision strengthened and advanced our company in all regions.”
Van Laack will assume responsibility for the Americas region, as well as Global Technology, Product Safety & Responsibility, the Circular Economy Hub, and Global Brand Owner Collaboration. Dirk Weissenfeldt, Siegwerk’s chief financial officer, will manage the Global Business Unit Cluster Flexible Packaging.
Van Laack has held various leadership roles since joining Siegwerk in 2008, including regional sales director and vice president for Paper & Board EMEA and Liquid Food Packaging. He played a key role in launching the company’s Circular Economy Coatings business unit in 2024.
“Van Laack’s expertise in business development and operational excellence makes him the perfect successor,” Wiedmann said.
The leadership transition will take effect July 1, 2025.
