PPG Named to Barron’s 100 Most Sustainable U.S. Companies List

PPG announced its inclusion on Barron’s 100 Most Sustainable U.S. Companies 2025 list, ranking No. 62 among the 1,000 largest publicly traded companies. This marks the second consecutive year that PPG has been the only paints and coatings manufacturer recognized.
“For more than 140 years, innovating solutions with our customers has been critical to PPG’s success,” said Peter Votruba-Drzal, PPG vice president, global sustainability. “By ensuring that sustainability is embedded into our decision-making and innovation processes, we’re able to deliver sustainably advantaged solutions that enable us to grow with our customers by delivering on their needs in enhanced product performance, improved operational productivity, and reduced overall value chain impacts.”
PPG’s recent sustainability initiatives include:
- New sustainable product innovations, such as the PPG DURANEXT™ portfolio of electron beam (EB) and ultraviolet (UV) curable coatings, designed to reduce energy usage, water consumption, and CO₂ emissions.
- Continued investment in the Colorful Communities® program, with 58 projects completed in 27 countries in 2024.
- Advancing toward 2030 emissions reduction targets, including a solar installation at PPG’s Caivano, Italy, site, reducing CO₂ emissions by 390 metric tons annually and cutting the facility’s operating costs by 15%.
