Clariant Rejects Allegations in Competition Law Case

Clariant announced that on February 25, 2025, the company received a claim for damages from TotalEnergies, filed with the court of Amsterdam, Netherlands. The claim, which targets four companies including Clariant, alleges EUR 625 million in damages related to ethylene sales and infringements of competition law on the ethylene purchasing market, as sanctioned by the European Commission in July 2020.
Clariant firmly rejects the allegations and stated it will adamantly defend its position in the proceedings. The company asserts that economic evidence indicates the conduct in question had no market impact.
