Stahl has opened a new Center of Excellence in Apex, North Carolina, as part of its strategy to drive innovation and sustainability in the US market. The facility will serve as a key innovation hub for the company’s Performance Coatings business, with a focus on industries such as automotive, apparel and luxury goods.
The Apex Center of Excellence will be equipped with cutting-edge application technology, testing facilities and pilot production capabilities. It will also provide a space for customers, OEMs and brand partners to co-develop and refine advanced solutions tailored to market needs.
Stahl’s decision to establish the new center is part of its broader strategy to strengthen its presence in the North American market. The company currently generates nearly 20% of its total revenue from the US and Canada, with that share growing to 25% when including Central America.
In addition to its focus on innovation, the Apex Center of Excellence will also play a key role in supporting Stahl’s sustainability goals. The company is actively working to develop environmentally responsible coating solutions and is a participant in the Science Based Targets initiative.
Stahl’s new Center of Excellence is expected to create new jobs and drive economic growth in the Apex area. The company is also looking to establish partnerships with local businesses, universities and research institutions.
The opening of the Apex Center of Excellence marks a return to the US for Stahl, which was originally founded in the country in 1930. The company has since grown into a global leader in specialty coatings for flexible materials.
