Simpson Gumpertz & Heger (SGH) has announced the addition of Brian Pailes as a new associate director and project director Dustin Turnquist to their team. Both Pailes and Turnquist have significant backgrounds in corrosion and materials engineering and they will be joining SGH’s Engineering Mechanics & Infrastructure (EMI) group.

Pailes will be based in SGH’s new Tampa location, where he will focus on cathodic protection and non-destructive evaluation. He is an Association for Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP)-certified Cathodic Protection Specialist and a Professional Engineer in several states. Pailes has a background in material testing, structural evaluation, and corrosion on a variety of structures.

Turnquist will be based in SGH’s Denver office, where he will focus on failure and corrosion analyses and fatigue characterization. He is a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator and a Professional Engineer in several states. Turnquist has extensive experience in metallurgy, engineering investigations, and testing.
