The Alliance for Chemical Distribution (ACD) and Responsible Distribution Canada (RDC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on November 11 to strengthen collaboration and their respective Responsible Distribution programs.
The MOU recognizes the role of these performance programs in managing chemicals safely and securely across the supply chains of the United States and Canada.
RDC President Catherine Wieckowska, RDC Board Chair Philip Zerr, ACD Chairman Ed Boss, and ACD President and CEO Eric R. Byer signed the agreement during ACD's Annual Meeting in La Quinta, California.
“ACD and RDC’s respective Responsible Distribution programs are central to the way our industry operates,” said Byer. “This collaboration reaffirms a joint commitment to guiding principles upholding the highest standards of quality, safety, and sustainability. By working across borders, the industry can strengthen the chemical supply chain now and into the future.”
Since 1991, ACD Responsible Distribution™ has set environmental, health, safety, security, and sustainability standards for the chemical distribution industry. The framework emphasizes continuous improvement in chemical storage, handling, transportation, and disposal.
RDC promotes ethical and responsible chemical distribution in Canada, with eight guiding principles governing member company actions in chemical distribution and services.
