Micro Powders, Inc. announced its exit from the per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) market by the end of 2025.

This decision supports the company’s dedication to providing advanced additive technology that aligns with company values and meets global environmental, health and safety regulations.

Over recent years, Micro Powders developed a portfolio of PTFE-free replacement products based on unique nanocomposite technology. These additives perform as well or better than their PTFE-containing counterparts, often at a lower cost. Many customers have already successfully transitioned to these products across industries such as can and container coatings, graphic arts, and architectural coatings.

“We developed our advanced nanocomposite technology in 2019 and now offer the largest portfolio of industry-leading PTFE replacement additives that allow our customers to remove PFAS-based materials from their formulas,” said Gary Strauss, President, Micro Powders. “We understand how important it is for formulators to pivot to additives that address regulatory challenges without sacrificing performance.”

Micro Powders aims to help customers find the ideal replacement additive to remain compliant in their industry and enhance formulations.
