The British Coatings Federation (BCF) announced the winners of the 2024 BCF Awards, held on Nov. 6 at The Milner in York, where over 180 delegates gathered to recognize outstanding achievements across the industry. Awards were given in categories honoring young talent, sustainability, marketing and customer service excellence.
The Apprentice of the Year Award was won by Elliott Taylor from AkzoNobel, while Catherine Friar from Hexigone Inhibitors received the Young Leader of the Year Award and Catherine Gibson from PPG Architectural Coatings UK&I was named Student of the Year. PPG Architectural Coatings UK&I also won the Diversity and Inclusion Award and AkzoNobel received the Excellence in Training Award.
In sustainability, Sun Chemical took the Sustainable Innovation Multinational Award for AquaHeat Inks and Belzona received the Sustainable Innovation SME Award for SF6-FIX. The Race to Net Zero Award recognized Crown Paints in the Multinational category and Anstey Wallpaper Company in the SME category.
The Corporate Social Responsibility Award went to Community RePaint, sponsored by AkzoNobel, in the Multinational category and to Seagulls Reuse for SMEs. Crown Paints won the Customer Service Award in the Multinational category and Thermaset received it for SMEs. Sherwin-Williams was awarded Marketing Campaign of the Year for its Valspar “V&ME” campaign.
